ROCK   ON   THE   ROAD  

Rock on the Road is an integral part of the Ohana Institute, a fully accredited school located in Inlet Beach, Florida. Ohana's vision is to provide a personalized learning path that transforms education by helping students discover their individual talents in an environment where they are inspired to learn and naturally uncover their true passions. Music is one of the many creative outlets available for students to explore those passions.

The Rock on the Road (ROTR) program is built on the principles of experiential, student-led learning. The music industry is dynamic and constantly evolving, and real-world experience is key. Students are not only encouraged but expected to take initiative and immerse themselves in the various facets of the music business.

All Ohana students are required to complete at least two years of performing arts. ROTR is designed for those with a deep passion for music and performance. Throughout the academic year, the program works toward organizing a fully funded, week-long tour. During these nine months of preparation, ROTR students perform at events, festivals, and schools, sharing their love for music while gaining hands-on experience. Over the past ten years, ROTR has inspired more than 16,000 students across the country.

The program’s unique curriculum ensures that each student explores multiple aspects of the music industry—whether it's songwriting, artist management, or event planning. Founded in 2014 by Jonathan Mitchell, Ohana’s band director, Rock on the Road equips students with the tools and opportunities to discover and pursue their own paths in the world of music.
